The Bar graph below shows the Expenditure in Million Pounds on fast food items by income groups in the UK.
You should write at least 150 words.
The bar graph depicts how people with a range of income in the UK spent money on fast food, specifically hamburger, fish & chips and pizza during 1990.
Overall, the most stratospheric amount of money was spent on hamburgers in both the high- and average-income group in 1990, with 47 million pounds and 33 million pounds respectively, whereas in the low-income group, the most-consumed type of fast-food item was fish & chips. The expenditure that the average and low-income people spent on pizza was the least, yet this was the second-most eaten by prosperous people.
According to the given charts, people with high income ate hamburgers significantly more than other types of fast food in 1990. In other words, fish & chips and pizza consumption of the year halved that of the aforementioned fast-food item. To be more specific, the expenditure spent on the former was about 2 million more than the latter. In the average-income group, however, the difference in terms of expenditure spent on fish & chips and pizza was more exponential when comparing to the aforementioned group with somewhere in the vicinity of 23 million.
Fast-food-wise, people with low income spent most of their money on fish & chips (17 million pounds), which equaled that of high-income people. Unlike other groups of people, it was hamburgers that this group of people spent the least of their expenditure money on. The trend is the same for pizza consumption, which was the least-bought type of fast food seen in this group - just merely 7 million pounds.
