The graph exhibits that, in German and France, how much electricity have been produced in 2009 and the detail information of both normal and renewable ways.

As reported by the chart, electricity generated by German, which was 590 billion kwh in that year, outweighed France about 15%. Generally, there were three types of sources in generation of electricity in German, with conventional thermal having the greatest proportion(59.6%), followed by Nuclear and Renewables only making 17.4% of the total number. Compared to France, Nuclear power station played the most important role in the country's power supply, accounting for 76% of the total generation, comparing with about one tenth was contributed by conventional thermal stations.

Speaking aspects of using regenerated resources, such as Biomass, Hydroelectric, Wind and Solar, France adopted Hydroelectric way as the primary one, which formed four fifth of the pie. The following two components were Wind and Biomass, contributing 10.5% and 8.1% respectively. And using Solar and Geothermal were barely noticeable. Differently, excepting Geothermal which is same as France, the other four renewable resources are all used a lot in German's electricity generation, in which Biomass and Wind both had almost 40%, preceding Hydroelectric(17.7%) and Solar(6.1%).

Overall, France preferred new technology such as Nuclear and Hydroelectric other than German which tended to conventional ways.
