The salmon life cycle in eight different stages from laying eggs to be adults is illustrated by the diagram.
Overall, it is observed that the stages are located in three various ecosystems, which are in a river, estuary, and ocean subsequently. Obviously, salmons live in the brackish water not as long as other places.
Regarding the first stage, in the freshwater, it reveals this species spawn plenty of eggs, which will incubate throughout several periods, being the second one. Continuedly, the third stage, if those have hatched, it is marked that they have been juveniles, commencing to rear in this area as the next stage. Furthermore, following their instinct, the babies swim downstream to estuary, adapting to the higher saline water, then rearing there, recorded as the fifth.
Turning to the sixth, they migrate to the ocean, which the concentration of salinity is denser than in the two former ecosystems. Meanwhile, the seventh indicates that migration will end when schools have arrived at the growing area, reaching maturity. These adult fish, in the final stage, travel back to the river, reproducing new individuals throughout the breeding season, and a new life begins.
