The bar chart illustrates the proportion of British men, women and children who follow the recommendation of the amount of fruit and vegetable absorbed on a daily basis every 4 years from 2002 to 2010.
Overall, people in 2006 were prone to follow the advice more as the percentage of children and each gender consumption was higher compared to statistics of 2002 and 2010. Additionally, women tended to follow the diet recommended and children do exactly the opposite.
It is noticeable that the percentage of women consumed according to the recommendation was always higher. In 2002, the figure was 25%, compared to 22% and 11% men and children. In 2006, the figure rose to 32%, which was also higher than 26% and 18% for men and children. Similarly, in 2010, although the figure dropped to 26%, it remained higher than the percentage of men and children who follow the advice (24% and 16% respectively).
Moreover, people eat recommended in 2006 more than in the two other years. The figure for men, women and children all went up from 22% to 26%, 25% to 32% and 11% to 18% respectively. However, in 2010, there was a total decrease, which was 24%, 26% and 16% of men, women and children consuming alike the advice.
