The bar chart compares the social media appearance proportion of 3 levels of businesses over the period of 5 years starting from 2012.
It is clear that the overall trend was upward except for a sharp decrease in 2015. Additionally, large businesses spent a significantly larger percentage of budgets on social media for commercial purposes than their counterparts.
From 2012 to 2014, the presence proportion on social media of giant companies was considerably stable (about 78%), after which it suddenly plunged to 52% in 2014. Just one year later, the figure surged to roughly 80%, which is higher than the starting percentage.
In terms of small and medium businesses, they appeared less on social media for trading purposes. The percentage of these 2 types of business started at about 28% and 32% respectively, at which point both of them rose to 35% and nearly 50% in 2014. Then, they all experienced a dramatic fall to 30% in the next year. After dropping, the figure for small and medium companies jumped up to merely 50% and 52% respectively.
