The table shows forested land in millions of hectares in different parts of the world. (Write and Improve)
The represented table illustrates how forest was grown in six continents of the world from 1990 to 2005, data are described in millions of hectares.
Generally speaking, Europe had more trees than any other areas, while Oceania stayed at the bottom over the period of 15 years.
It is noticeable that there was a slight increase in the number of trees in Europe, from 989 in 1990 to 1001 in 2005. Meanwhile, other areas saw reverse trends. Both South America and Africa, which were at the second and third place after Europe respectively, declined approximately 60 millions of hectares over the 15-year period.
Another point should be pointed out is that the forest area in North America, Asia, and Oceania almost remained the same after 15 years. There were around 700 millions of forest hectares in North America, which roughly 120 millions more than Asia. Oceania, at the bottom, had around 200 millions of Forest Area, which was just one-fifth of Europe after 15 years.
