Nowadays, people tend to spend less time at home than they used to. What are the causes for this change and what are the effects on society and individuals?
Spending less time at home is an issue that arouses greater and greater concern today. Society and individuals are affected positively when people have spent more time in public places. It makes people connect more, changes their lifestyle and society develops rapidly. There are multiple causes for this, including employment problems, people’s awareness of health, and relaxation.
First, the cost of living always is the biggest reason for people to go out. If someone stays at home all day long, they will have difficulty with money because they have to pay more for many bills like electricity, eating, education, and so on. People have to go outside for finding a job to earn money and maintain a stable standard of living. Moreover, the cost of living is higher than in the past so people choose to do extra work to get more money. Instead of doing work in 8 hours, people who want to do extra work have to do work in 10 to 12 hours. That is the reason why the time they stay at home is reduced.
Second, health is being paid attention to by everyone, especially after Covid-19. When people just stay at home, it doesn’t have too much physical activity which leads to people getting fat quickly so many people choose to go out outside to lose weight. It is easy to give up when they stay at home because they are easily attracted by food, TV, social media, and so on. Going outsides, walking or running, and enjoying the atmosphere at the place they live is a good way to lose weight and reduce stress. Moreover, many exercise groups appear day by day, it also attracts people to put their phones down and give them the motivation to do exercise. Because of that, people’s health is always maintained and the time they go outside also increased.
Last, people stay at home less than they used to because they go outsides to relax. Nowadays, many types of entertainment appear like karaoke, beer club, water park, board game, onsen…and it is more attractive than staying at home. After working hard, people always want to reduce stress, forget all deadlines and enjoy days off but they can not spend all long sleeping and staying at home, it is so boring. Hanging out with friends or family, and trying new types of entertainment will make people’s day amazing. Besides that, relaxing outsides take a lot of time. People can not shopping in 30 minutes, it always takes 3 to 4 hours and others activities are also like that.
In brief, due to the rapid development of society and the high load of work, many people spend a lot of time outside to achieve a better living standard. Besides that, the appearance of various types of entertainment also an effect cause to people stay at home less than they used to, and this phenomenon affects both society and personal life.
