Many people have a lot of worries when they become college students. Among them, the biggest concern would be home. Some people say that it is important to live independently now that you are a college student, and others say that it is safe to live with your family. I agree with the latter. I will tell you three reasons to support my opinion.
To begin with, you do not feel lonely living with your parents. These days, many college students stay at home more because of Covid-19. Therefore, they feel lonely more. Especially, when they adapt to the new environment of university, they get a lot of stress from relationships and grades. In high school, they can relieve their stress by talking to their parents, but if they live alone as a college student, they have to solve it alone or endure it. In fact, college students are suffering from depression these days. For example, my friend’s older sister is a college student and living alone, she has become very timid and shy because she has no one to talk to.
Next, if we live with our parents, we can eat delicious and healthy meals. The biggest disadvantage of living alone is that you have to cook and eat alone. Most of them are too lazy to cook or have a lot of ingredients left, so they order delivery or cook ramen. If this happens, their health keeps getting worse and they miss home-cooked meals. On the other hand, if you live with your parents, you can eat warm home-cooked meals, stay healthy and live without worrying about food. For instance, my cousin said that she has lived alone since she was a college student. She ordered a lot of delivery, so her money went away quickly and her health got worse, so she moved back to her parent’s house.
Last, living with our parents makes us feel secure. It is too dangerous these days. There are more crimes than before and there are more strange people in the university. Therefore, if you have parents at home, it is safer than living alone. You can feel not only physical stability but also psychological stability. Sad or depressed in society there has been very low self esteem because if my parents came home and talked to restore self-esteem and can feel comfortable.
To sum up, if college students live with their parents, they can live a healthy and stable life without feeling lonely. That is why it is better to be with our parents.
