This is especially helpful for students who are trying to learn about a particular subject but don’t have a lot of time. One real life example of this is the movie Hidden Figures. The movie tells the story of African American women who worked as mathematicians and engineers for NASA during the Space Race in the 1960s. The movie is based on a book of the same name, which would have taken much longer to read than the movie took to watch.
Movies can be more memorable than books. Because they are visual, movies tend to stick with us longer than books. This is helpful for students who need to remember information for exams or papers. For example, a student who reads a history textbook and then watches a documentary on the same subject is likely to remember more from the documentary than from the textbook. This is because the documentary brings the history to life with visuals and sound, while the textbook is mostly text-based. In addition, movies are generally more entertaining than books, so we are more likely to pay attention to them and remember what we have seen.
Of course, there are also some drawbacks to using movies as a learning tool. For example, they can be expensive, and it can be difficult to find ones that are appropriate for all ages. Additionally, movies often leave out important details, and they can be biased.
Despite these drawbacks, movies can be a valuable learning tool for students. They are often more engaging than books, can cover a lot of information in a short amount of time, and can be more memorable.
