Windmill
The passage and the lecture discuss about the wind power. The lecture talks about advantages as well as disadvantages of wind power.
The first advantage the professor talks about is that wind power is clean source of energy; and this point agrees with the point made in the reading that wind power is clean, safe and environmentally friendly.
The second advantage the professor mentions in his lecture is that wind power is getting affordable enough to compete with power generated using inexpensive coal and oil; this agrees with the point in the passage that wind power is a promising energy source that can serve as an alternative to electricity generated using fossil fuels.
However, professor also mentions in his lecture that wind power lacks energy density and would require large amounts of land in order to generate electricity in useful amounts; this departs from the point made in reading that wind turbines could provide 20 percent of the electricity if they were installed in less than one percent of land in the United States.
A second disadvantage is that wind turbines kill a large number of birds; this point attacks the claim made in passage that wind power is safe and environmentally friendly.
