The graph below gives historical information and projections about changes in population in the United States, Nigeria and Japan.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The line graph reflects past changes along with predicted figures in the population of three nations from 1950 to 2050.
Overall, the population of the United States and Nigeria have been and will be expanding whereas Japan’s figure expects no considerable changes.
In 1950, the human count of America was the highest among all three compared nations, at nearly 200 million. The figure then followed a stable upward trajectory to around 300 million toward the end of the century, and still on the increase until an anticipated peak of nearly 450 million in 2050.
Followed next in 1950 was Japan’s figure at around half of the US’s figure, which waxed and waned within the 100 - 150 million range over a century, peaking at 150 million midway and expecting to lower again from then onwards. In stark contrast, with a relatively humble starting point of about one-second of Japan’s figures, the population of Nigeria initially witnessed puerile growth until surpassing Japan in 2000 with a faster increasing pace and expected to be the highest in the end of the period.
