The given bar chart illustrates the rentals and sales of movies of different categories from a particular store in one year from 2002 to 2011.
At first glance, it is evident that the sales of DVDs remain highest in the year with the exception of the first two years of data.
From the charts, There were no any sales of Blu-ray until 2006, whereas there was a decreasing trends of rentals, which was nearly 180,000 per year in 2002. Sales of DVDs rose significantly from 85,000 in 2002 to 210,000 in 2006. Whoever, sales of VHS showed a downward trend and sales declined to nearly 10,000 in 2005 before reaching zero in 2006.
After 2007, sales of DVDs had declined to 180,000 in 2011, after it reached to a peak with a sales of nearly 205,000 in 2007. Rentals followed a similar trend as a previous year and reached to the lowest sales of nearly 60,000 in 2011. Sales of Blu-ray gradually increased from 2007 and 15,000 were sold per year in 2011. There were no any sales of VHS from 2006 to 2011.
