The provided graph illustrates the money obtained from distributing games played on a variety of devices during a 6-year period from 2000 to 2006. In general, the value generated from most types of digital games shared an upward trend over the period, with the sole exception of console games which witnessed a steady drop throughout the years.
To begin with, it can be clearly seen from the illustration that handheld games have remained the most lucrative among all kinds of game products, whose sales rose gradually until reaching a peak of almost 18 billion dollars in 2006. In contrast, the figures for console games decreased consistently throught the 6-year period, hitting the bottom at roughly 3 million dollars which was 50% less than that of 2000.
Regarding games played online, despite their modest start in sales in the year 2001 at approximately 0.5 billion dollars experienced significant growth over the years, eventually reaching to about 10 billion dollars in 2006. It is also worth to note that although games played on mobile phones didn't generate any value until 2002, their sales figures soared up to more than 6 billion dollars in 2006.
