The graph depicts information about the travelleddistance of commuters by various transport vehicles in England, measured in billions of kilometers, between 1990 and 2000.
Looking from an overall perspective, it is apparent that the total travelled distance of all means of transport experienced an increase throughout the period of 10 years, regardless of a slight decrease in this number of bikes and bicycles. In addition, bus was the most popular vehicle among the passengers while air transport had the smallest distance travelled by English citizens.
In 1990, it is clear that passengers only commuted about 5 billions of kilometers by air where this figure of bus stood at 40 billions of kilometers. However, the distance travelled by plane attendants doubled in 2000. Simultaneously, the kilometers that bus takers went rose insignificantly, which was similar to those travelled by railways.
Moreover, bicycle travelled distance was approximately 7 billions of kilometers in 1990 and witnessed a small dip 10 years later. Interestingly, this number of motorbikes shared the same trend. Nonetheless, the total kilometers travelled of all vehicles still considerably went up, from 100 to almost 114 billions of kilometers.
