First, the reading claims that cheaper space flight will benefit space exploration as the technological costs are bring down by privatization which will enhance competition and thereby cheaper flight costs.The lecturer refutes this point by saying that as the competition increases, more space traffic costs are required to prevent collisions and therefore more operational costs are needed for such systems. The professor also claims that safety has to be tested and re-tested for space ships which again causes a hike in space flight ticket.

Second, the article posits that commercial space flight companies accelerate the scientific discoveries than in the past.However,the professor says that privatization prevents scientific acceleration.According to the professor, the scientists hired by the commercial companies from the government owned spaceship companies do not add much to the science.

Third, the reading says that with the privatization, the costs of space travel will be borne by the customers of industry.The professor opposes this point by explaining that space stations and space airports will cost more and private companies cannot raise enough funds.We also learn that this increases the burden on taxpayers.
