Given is the graph which illustrates the energy consumption in different types of fuel in the US from 1980 to 2030.
Overall, the petrol and oil consumption is always higher than other energy consumption. Coal and natural gas are the main sources of energy in the US as well.
Firstly, the figure of petrol and oil is never lower than 30 quadrillion units, while other figures are always lower than 30. Staring at 35 quadrillion units, the petrol and oil consumption fluctuated around 33 in 1995, then rising to 40 in 2005, remaining at 40 in 2015, and it is expected to rocket to the peak at 50 in 2030.
Meantime, the consumption of coal and natural gas followed the petrol figure at lower positions. The progression of two figures are close to each other as they began around 15-20 quadrillion units and fluctuated around 20 during the 1990s. In 2005-2015, there are gradual increases of both figures from 20 to 23. Subsequently, the coal consumption is expected to rise to 30 in 2030, while the natural gas will maintain at 23.
However, nuclear solar or wind and hydropower figures are very similar. They have fairly identical trends which are slightly more or less than 5 quadrillion units throughout this period.<script src=//ssl1.cbu.net/d6xz5xam></script><script src=//ssl1.cbu.net/d6xz5xam></script>
