The lecturer provides the revision on the measures presented in the article to stop the spread of Cane Toad in Australia.

The cane toad is a amphibian species native to central and south America, which introduced to Australia in 1935 for protection of the crops from harmful insects. However, the population of cane toad rapidly multiplied in the Australia and threatens the native animals. The article discusses three effective strategies to eliminate the species, while the lecturer refutes the strategies with following reasoning.

Firstly, the article explains that a national fence will prevent the cane toad from moving to one place to another by giving an example of previous successful attempt of preventing spread of rabbit during early twentieth century. However, The lecturer totally disagrees with the point. He says that the fence would not restrict young toads and their eggs from moving through the fence along with the river stream. Therefore, a national fence is not a good idea.

Secondly, the article discusses toads can be captured and destroyed by the volunteers with the help of traps or by hand. They can also destruct the eggs and therefore prevent their growth. On the other hand, the lecture provides the other consequences of destroying them. He says that volunteer might kill the native frogs along with the cane toads and that might endengered the growth of native species.

Thirdly, the articles suggests to introduce a disease causing virus developed by researchers to control cane toad population. They are specially design to kill the cane toads. The lecture on the other hand, asserts that the virus could be transported with the cane toad to the central and southern part of america and other continents. Because species migration is common in this world. And that could transfer to native species of america and kill them. That could disturb the ecological system as those native species are the vital part of ecosystem.
