A photograph that I have seen that was memorable is the Afghan Girl by Steve McCurry. It is memorable because first of all, it’s visually intriguing. Her red turban and the green background create a nice contrast and work really well together. Not to mention her green eyes which tell the viewer a lot about her life. The second reason I was drawn to this picture is that the photographer and a crew met with the girl again after 17 years, during which time she had not been photographed even once. Her eyes in the picture are haunted and haunting at the same time. It’s full of the pain that wars has brought to human race.
