First, the reading claims that due to wider range of knowledge and expertise in a group it is expected the team handle the project more effectively. The professor refutes this point by saying that there are cases in which some members in a team do not contribute in the project and this way some human resources are wasted since others should undertake the remaining tasks.
Second the reading posits that by employing group work strategy toward projects it is likely that more creative ideas be presented. On the other hand the professor states that this opinion is not likely to be true. To this end the professor claims that sometimes more influential members of a team may direct the group attitude about presented ideas. Which finally results in inferior quality of work when compared to individual based attitude toward the project.
Third, the reading says that participating in groups is beneficial in individual point of view, since members of the group who are influential in making decisions feel better by being recognized. In contrast the professor opposes the point by explaining that in groups all the members feel recognition evenly and the individuals who were influential in the process of the project receive less that what the deserve.
