Coal and Natural gas consumption was 20 and around 16 quadrillion respectively in 1980 eventually both reached to 17 quadrillion units in 1990 thereby, consumption of coal rose gradually to around 23 quadrillion units in 2016 and predicted to reach around 30 quadrillion units by 2030. On the other hand, natural gas consumption decreased to around 20 quadrillion units in 2010 and reached 23 quadrillion units in 2015 assumed to remain constant till 2030.
Nuclear, solar / wind and hydro power consumption was around 3 quadrillion units in 1980, with slight inclination in nuclear use of around 7 quadrillion units in 2005 which remained same until 2015. However, solar / wind use fell down further to 2 quadrillion units in 2015, whereas, hydro power use was around 1 quadrillion units in 2015. Nuclear, solar / wind and hydrogen consumption is predicted to be around 6, 5 and 1 quadrillion units respectively by 2030.
