The given pictures illustrate the setup and mechanism behind generation of electricity using ocean waves. The setup is same but the mechanism used for producing electricity changes when direction of waves changes.
When the tides are directed towards land the high pressured air it brings along tends to move towards low pressure area and in this process it helps the turbine located in between the columns to rotate. This rotational energy leads to the generation of electricity.
In a slightly different manner, when tides move back into the ocean the high pressured air from outside rushes towards the area vacated by tides and again this rotation of turbine due to movement of air generates electricity.
Hence, it can be seen that electricity is generated very efficiently using tidal waves.
