First, the lecturer is approving he was rich and asked for loan when he was in Switzerland. The reason for it was because he needed time to convert his asset to money and meanwhile he needed money. He borrowed on that occasion, although Critics thus argue that if the Chevalier had really been very rich, he would not have needed to borrow money.
Moreover, he had conversation wth memorier and everyone that witnessed those events said he had reports from them every night.However, critics complain that the memoir cannot possibly capture these conversations accurately, because it was written many years after the conversations occurred.
Furthermore. his escape from prison was true because soon after his escape they had to repair the ceiling. Although many rich people were with him that have more support he was the one who escaped. the other hand, reading passage states that the Chevalier had a number of politically well-connected friends in Venice who could have offered a bribe.
