The bar chart depicts the number of telephone calls in the three different call categories in the UK between 1995 and 2002. It is measured in billions of minutes. At the first glance, the using of mobile phones became more popular which climbed gradually over a period of 7 years, though others were still higher overall.
At the beginning of the period, in 1995, all calls by mobile were the least calls used by people in UK, starting at approximately 3 billion minutes. Then, the total of minutes of mobiles rose slightly around fourfold over the next 4 years. Interestingly, it had well over one-half as many minutes of local calls.
On the other hand, domestic was the most popular type to call by British throughout the time frame. It went up steadily and reached a peak of 90 billion minutes in 1999, but then slipped back to around it original level of 73 billion minutes. In contrast, national and international type became the second favorite calls as it experienced an upward trend, increased by 15 billion minutes from 1995 to 2002.
