This was followed by a significant growth, with the sale reaching a peak of 16 billion dollars in 2006. By contrast, console games which were the second popular game listed in 2000, at 6 billion dollars, dropped to its lowest point of approximately to 3 in 2006. Gaining popularity from 2001 with a mere of 1 billion dollars, online games saw a soar to a staggering of roughly 8 billion dollars in the sale, which came second in 2006. It is interesting to note that the sale of mobile phone games launching in 2002, then, went up steadily to about 7 billion dollars in 2006.
