Both reading and listening passage are talking about the population of yellow cedar. In the reading passage there are three main cause of decling of the population of the yellow cedar. On the other hand, the lecture finds all the ideas unbelieveable and try to repute all of the reasons which are mentionedin the reading passage.
First of all, the reading passage claims the fact that one of the main cause of decling in the population of the yellow cedar is cedar bark beetle. Conversely, the professor states that yellow cedar in much more healthier and resistance than other tree. The propulation of yellow cedar saturated by powerful chemical and it suffer damage. Moreover, beetle attacks tree and other insect but it's not fundamanetal cause of decling of the yellow cedar.
Second of all, the reading passage asserts the fact that another cause of decling of the population of the yellow cedar is bears. In contrast, the lecture brings up the idea that bears decay some trees but it is not main cause of yellow cedar tree. Furthermore, yellow cedar live in mainland and ieland and not bears don't live in the ieland and decling of population yellow cedar occurs without bears and the bears is not resposible as a cause of declining yellow cedar.
Finally, the author of the reading passage explains the fact that the climate change lead the population of yellow cedar decrease. Wheras, the lecture illustrate the fact that root suffer damage and the low elevation has a warm weather and high elevation have a cold weather. In addition, the climate chnage is not resposible for cause of high elevation in the warm weather but in the low elevation, cold weather is freezing the root of the yellow cedar and lead to kill them.
