The reading passage discussion is about the disability of clay jars in producing the electricity in the ancient time and provides three reasons for its claim. However, the professor thinks none of them is convincing, and they could generate electricity.
First, the text declares that for generating electricity with these tools, they must have metal wires, but there are not any wires with the clay jars. In contrast, the lecture states that local people found these clay jars and maybe they did not recognise the importance of the materials that were near these clays.
Second, the passage explains that these clay jars are completely like the copper cylinder that they hav e found in the ruin Seleucia. Hence, they think clay used to for keeping a sacred scroll like the Seleucia copper cylinders. However, the professor asserts that although these clay s are similar to the clays in Seleucia, this discovery does not prove that they just use for this purpose. It is true that by utilising iron and filling the jars, the electricity can be produced. This action used to for generating first batteries.
Third, the author tells that the ancient people had not any tools to use from the electricity, and it was useless for them. On the contrast, the professor tells that they could use electricity for magic power or ease the pain. In fact, if the jars had electricity, it would have produced the shock when people touch it since they could use it for magic poweق. Also, they could reduce the pain by joining the electricity to the muscles.
