The diagram below shows the typical stages of consumer goods manufacturing, including the process by which information is fed back to earlier stages to enable adjustment.
The diagram illustrates the stages involved in the production of consumer goods including the feedbacks at a specific interval.
At a fleeting glance, it is clearly observed that the process is initiated with the purchase of raw materials as well as manufactured components which are further stored until the production planning. The latter provides the feedback for the former. Also, it includes product research and design. Then, the process is carried through the stages of assembly, inspection, testing and packaging sequentially which is then dispatched for the sale.
Switching to the feedbacks, sales provides the feedback to production planning and market research which in turn provides reviews to advertising as well as packaging. Again, it gives remarks to design which is evaluated by testing as well.
All in all, it is a value chain development process which starts from the raw materials and ends at the sale of the product, n each stage value is added to the product and proper feedback is given.
