The reading and the lecture are about the finding of some fossils of some type of dinosaurs. The author of the reading thinks it is the remains of tissue of the animals that contain sings of blood cells. The lecturer, on the other hand, casts doubt on the this claims. He provides three reasons for elaboration as follows.
First, the article argues that there is hollows inside the bones that contain a soft substance consists of organic substance. He thinks that this substance represents the remains of the blood cells. The lecturer, on the other hand, rejects this claim. He elaborates by stating that the soft substance is likely to be the organic residues left because of the activity of the bacteria inside this holes.
Second, the text contends that microscope examination showed reddish remains which is likely to be a sign of the existence of the red blood cells. The professor, in contrast, provides different explanation by mentioning that the reddish remains are likely the remains of some red minerals. He explains that they have found this red material in the fossil of other preemptive animals that do not contain red blood cells which eliminate the possibility that they are remains of red blood cells.
Third, the author of the reading says that they have found the collagen inside the bones and exist only in tissues. However, the lecturer rebuts this supposition by providing scientific fact that the collagen does not live for more than 100.000 years, but the tissue are much older than that. That is a proof that this substance is not collagen, and it may be the remains of more recent source. For example, the skin of the researchers could the source of this substance.
