The line graph compares the proportion of tourists to England Who visited four differents types of Brighton attractions over a 21 years period from 1980 to 2010.
It is clear from the line graph that the percentage of visitors to the Pavillion and Pier rose, there were sharp decreases in the figures for the Art Gallery and Festival during the research period.
In 1980, the percentage visiting the Festival was highest, at about 30%, while the figure for Pier was significantly decrease of 10%. Meanwhile, approximately 21% of tourist to England Who visited the Pavillion compared to only less than 21% of the Art Gallery. In 1985, the rate of visitors to the Art Gallery increased slightly to roughly 39%, whereas the percentage visiting Pavillion and Pier were slowly rise of 28% and 15%, respectively. Particularly after 1990, the percentage of Pavillion dramatically went up to approximately 50% in 1995.
After 1995, although the proportion of tourists to the Pavillion decreased to about 30% in 2010, it was above the starting figure of the period and became the highest figure compared to other attractions. Meanwhile, the percentage visiting the Pier was steadily increase to above 20%, whereas the figure for the Art Gallery dramatically declined to below 10%. At the same time, the proportion of visitors to the Festival remained steady, at 29%.
