the two types of factors that can change population is biotic factor and abiotic factor. The professor in the lecture uses two examples to illustrate the factor respectively. First example is about mat, the mat's predator is owls, if the number of owls is larger than usual, the number of mice would drop, because the owls eat more mice than usual, this is called biotic factor, which means that one living beings population can affect other animal's population. Another example is about rabbit, the rabbit can have an extra reproduce cycle if the winter season is shorter than usual, so the number of rabbit increase because of the climate, this is the abiotic factor, which means that non-living factors can affect animal's population
