According to the reading passage, genetic modified trees give huge benefits. However, According to the lecture, genetic modified trees get the serious problems and disadvantages out weight to the advantages of genetic modification process. The lecturer contradicts to each point of the article.
First, the article implies that genetic modified trees more chance to survive than natural trees. The lecturer, in contrast, mentions that genetic modified trees resistant to some specific condition but not sure for all conditions. Non modified trees are very diverse and some threaten condition some species resistant to this condition and survive. Some natural trees survive, even though some species are kill by threaten condition. But this is not possible for genetic modified tress because they uniform diverse. This trees exposure in the climate variation and new pest areas they unable to survive and wipe out whole species in the area.
Second, the reading passage emphasizes that genetic modified trees gives economic profit. The lecturer, on contrary, explains that company take high cost for genetic modified seed than non genetic modified seed and according to the law, farmers have to pay every years to company for genetic modified plants. So, it is not beneficial for farmer.
Third, the reading passage includes that increase the growth of wild trees and protect the endanger native and rare trees. The lecturer argue this point and states that genetic modified trees negative effect for wild trees because genetic modifies trees growing rapidly than natural trees. The natural trees compete with genetic modifies tress for soil, nutrition, sunlight, and water. Crowding genetic modified trees caused less space for natural trees.
