You have had a bank account for a few years. Recently you received a letter from the bank stating that your account is $240 overdrawn and that you will be charged $70 which will be taken directly from your account. You know that this information is incorrect.
Write a letter to the bank. Explain what has happened and say what you would like them to do about it.
Dear Sir,
I am Dirk Nowitzki, and I have been a loyal depositor of your bank for five years. This letter is being drafted because of the 'Statement of Account' that I received saying that the account is $250 overdrawn. In addition to that, I am subject to $70 bank charge because of the credit balance. This information is incorrect!
Over the last two weeks, I have not initiated any transaction, yet I have seen credit entries in the statement. My transaction only involves direct debits, on the other hand, this changes are relating to checks. Those transactions are fraudulent in nature and this letter also considered them as 'in dispute'.
I hope you understand my concern as this also reflects how poor security measures are. Please have this charges reversed, the bank charge revoked, and an updated statement sent to me as soon as possible.
Many thanks,
Dirk Nowitzki
