As people rely more and more on technology to solve problems, the ability of humans to think for themselves will surely deteriorate
The statement connotes the indirect relationship between the technology and human thinking. I do not purport the author completely. The technology is the result of human thinking. The technology is in the picture from the time when man produced fire by rubbing two stones. From then, it progressed and the man generated electricity and then an electric bulb. It has been decades when electric bulb was discovered, from then, we discovered television , computers, air conditioners and many more advances electronic gadgets. So will it be right to say that technology has deteriorated the human thinking? The answer would surely be" No" .
The technology has given us phone to communicate. Then, pagers and now touch screen phones and lap tops. Technology has always been a boon for the human. It was the human thinking only that invented i-phone and androids. Otherwise, could anyone imagine of a phone without buttons? Technology has improved our life style. We are always surrounded by the technology, without which now we can not even think to live.
However, when we look at the other side of the coin, we get astonished that how we are ruining our life by making it dependent on technology. Tread mill has taken the place of morning walk, and hence man starving for the fresh air. The electronic rays emitted by the cell phone cause prostate cancer.
It will be right to say that man has become tool of his own tools. I have seen students looking for calculators for doing even a paltry calculation. This will no doubt retard their mental growth.
To sum it up, i would say that one should use the technology only for the betterment of the human race. The children should be kept away from the calculators, phones and computers as it can affect their mental growth. Otherwise, technology will become a curse for the human life.
