In the reading passage, the writer contends that very old fossil structure, which have been found in the state of Arizona, that resembles bees' nests, could not be created by bees because of several reasons; however, in the lecture, the professor completely refutes all the reading points by presenting several reasons and points.
First of all, the writer claims that no fossils of actual bees have ever been found that date to that time, 200 million years ago; on the other hand, the professor takes issue with this belief and states that the absence of fossils' records cannot rejects the possibility of their existence. The professor asserts that it is possible there is no fossils of actual bees inasmuch as trees which could preserve them and represent them as a fossils in the future had not developed yet at that time.
Moreover, the writer also indicates that the absence of flowering plants which are critical for bees’ survival is another indicator to cast doubt on this theory; in contrast, the lecture material is against this view and states that bees probably fed on non-flowery plants at that time. They adapted to feed on flowering plants when they started to flourish.
In addition, the writer also declares that the structures lack some details of bees' nests; on the contrary, the lecture again rejects this notion and illustrates that even though the structure lack some details, but there is chemical evidence which are similar to water proof material created by today's bees.
