As most people spend a major part of their adult life at work, job satisfaction is an important element of individual wellbeing.
What factors contribute to job satisfaction?
How realistic is the expectation of job satisfaction for all workers?
Nowadays, job has became a culture of our life. People spend almost half of their life time on doing job. Thus, there is no doubt that people always try to reach satisfaction on their job. Based on my personal view, three main factors contributing to job satisfaction are payment/salary, relationship with supervisor and colleagues, and working area condition.
First of all, the appropriate amount of salary is the very important. This would be a basic need of every person who seeks a job. Moreover, the more salary we achieve, the more appreciation we will give to the job. It means the productivity of our job will be better when we achieve a high salary.
Secondly, not only money, the employees also need to have a good relationship with everyone in the office, especially with the supervisor. This is because people need to be recognized and praised from their leader to improve their efforts to improve the productivity. To have this good relationship the only thing the employees should do is only maintaining a good communication with everyone.
Finally, the situation where we work including security, convenience and comfortable are also very important to job satisfaction. A person will have a strong spirit when he goes to work if he works in a nice work environment.
In conclusion, those three things must simultaneously happen to achieve a satisfaction in a job. People cannot feel satisfied only with high salary but a bad relationship with colleagues as well as the vice versa.
