The table represents the proportion of different types of families who were living in poverty in Australia in 1990.
It is noticeable that sole parent was the only category which had proportion of over 20%.Within the range of 10 to 20%, the categories who were living in poverty in that particular year were single without children,couple with children as well as all households.The rest such as single aged person,aged couple and couple without children were the categories which had the least proportion range which was below 10%.
The single parent who ranked first in having highest percentage of people which was 21%,comprising 232 000,living in poverty in that year,followed by single who did not have any children with a difference of 2%.All households which had 1837000 people and the couple with children category which comprised 933 000 were approximately doubled of the single parent.Whereas the couple with no children ,single aged person and aged coupled consisted 7%,6% and 4% respectively.
Overall,sole parent were the one who suffered the poverty the most and the aged couple who were most of them were enjoying their ripe age was the least who were living under poverty in the country in the particular 1999 year
