The chart show the proportion of people in UK donating to charity by different age groups for the years 1990 and 2010. Overall, for both years, majority of people donating money is aged 36 to 65 and people aged from 18 to 25 are the least to donate.
To specify, in 1990, people in the age group 36 to 50 had the biggest amount of donors with 42%, followed by the group 51 to 56 years old with 35%. The proportion of donors by age groups of 26-35 and over 65 years old are 31% and 32% respectively, which were almost doubled as the percentage of donors by the ages of 18-25.
In comparison, in 2010, the ratio of 51 to 65 years old UK people contributing money to charity climbed to 39% and became the highest one. Meanwhile, the ratio of donors at the group 36-50 years old went down to 35%, which stayed equal with the group of over 65 years old. It is noticeable that the lowest rate was still in the group 18-25 years old with 7%.
In conclusion, 20 years after 1990, it is obvious that the proportion of donors to charity over 50 years old increased, while the opposite of rest decreased.
