In some families there is more than one television in the home, with each family member even having their own TV. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of having more than one set per home.
Over the past century technology has come to pervade every dimension of our lives. In retrospect, television was one of the most preliminary advances that entered our homes. Nowadays, TV is the commonest electric device in every single home. Subsequently, this electric box has some merits and demerits in family foundation which will be presented below.
On the one hand, TV serves entertainment in terms of a plethora of various programs such as documentaries, films, cartoons, series, music and other sorts of TV shows. However, these days, we are more possibly see more than one TV in each home. Surprisingly, some families are seen to own one TV for each member of the family. Thus, families are taking apart from each other as a result of indulging themselves in bringing TV to every singe rooms. Therefore, children spend most of their times in their rooms rather than taking some time to be with family, sharing ideas, talking about their times in schools. Moreover, it makes parents difficult to have a control over the programs that children watch which may be harmful for their ages. In other words, overusing TVs has led to a dysfunctional family.
On the other hand, one of the main aims of technology is to make lives easier through making demands more accessible. Hence, with TVs have become prevalence in home equipment, you can easily lye on your bed and watch TV while taking a rest. Furthermore, sometimes parents need privacy to spend some time together doing their fantasies, for that reason it is safer to have a television in their rooms.
To sum up, unavoidably, setting a TV device for each individual is becoming more popular and demandable. In my opinion, this trend won’t harm family systems if we utilize it in a proper way. Therefore, not only do we have our privacies, we can also spend a time being with family.
