vivisection
The reading and the leacture are both about Vivisection, which is make the researches on animals. The outhor of the reading believes that people should use the animals to do some tests on them while the lecturer casts doubt in the claims made in the article. She thinks that testing animals have to be banned because the animals get a lot of suffering from those tests.
First of all, the author points out that it is sure to keep animal gets less suffering. It is mentioned that the animal researchers apply the anesthesia when they say the animal cannt carry more pain. This point challenged by the lecturer. She says there are many animal which expose to the tests have many diseases. Furthermore, she argues that she have visited one of the lab and she saw many of animals have illness and suffring a lot.
Secondly, the author contends that there are many ways to test the medicens, but the animal tests is the most effectively. The articale notes humans ans chimpanzees share about 99% of their genes and a lot of animals share too. The lecturer rebuts this argument. She suggests there are many drugs have were discovered without any animal test. She elebotates on this point by mentioning that the Pancline was discovered by other tests.
