In the set of material, both the Reading passage and lecture discuss about the “great houses”. The author and lecturer have diferents opinions about the evidences to support them theories.
First of all, the Reading passage porpouse that Chaco structures were purely residential, with each housing hundreds of people. Morever said that the Chaco houses appear strikingly similar to the large, like apartments buildings. However, the lecturer affirms that outside the structure was really apartment buildings, but inside, many people live then. Once example of the lecturer was that each Family live in the own apartment, around 10 family.
In the second place, the Reading said that Chaco people was grain maize, which could be stored for long periods of time without spoiling and could serve as a long-lasting supply of food. But, the lecturer said that they have not access to container or big containers.
Third and last, the Reading claim that archaeologists identified an enormous mound fomed by a pile of material. Excavations of the mound revealed deposits containing a surprisingly large number of broken pots. Even though, the lecturer affirms this not support idea. She said that bronken pots have a large containing and with new material.
