The line graph illustrates the amount of elderly population aged over 65 and over between 1940 and 2040 in three different countries(USA, Sweden, and Japan).
Overall, the population in the United States of America soared at the beginning of the period, while Japan at its low. The population in the USA would be experiencing some fluctuations in the middle of the term, hence outnumber by Japan.
In 1940, the United States of America and Sweden had a fewer percentage of differences. While the former was closer to 10% of the population aged 65 and over, later was about 6%. After two decades, the population of elderly begun to rise in both the countries of USA and Sweden. After the year 1980, the USA witnessed a downward trend in their elderly population, however, Sweden continued to grow and peaked at 20% in between 2000 and 2020. Following the year 2020, both countries would continue to grow up to the end of the period.
On the other hand, Japan's population aged 65 and over was approximately 5% in the year 1940. However, its population hit a low for about five decades. Nevertheless, Japan managed to rise in the term period. Furthermore, the elderly population of Japan will take over the population(aged 65 and over) of both the countries of The United States of America and Sweden by the year 2040.
