"The best way to teach is to praise positive actions and ignore negative ones."
I agree with the recommendation that it is the best way to praise positive action of students while teaching but partially agree with to ignore negative ones.
It is good way to reward positive action of student as it will encourage him as well as other students to follow right decorum in class. Every human likes to be praised by others especially by those who are in authority. For example if there is a reward for best student in the class, every student in class will make efforts to get that reward in order to be praised. Positive feedback by teacher not only encourages students to be disciplined in class but also raises their self confidence. For example, if someone is not good in presentation skill or has stage fear and his attempts were appreciated by his mentor then his confidence will surely rise.
To some extent it would be fine to ignore students’ negative action .for instance student who is chatting with fellow classmates in class. This student might not be presenting much of problem .ignoring the student might, in fact, be the best solution.
Now assume the negative action like a student playing with dangerous chemicals in chemistry lab. This situation may turn out to be fatal for that student and for others as well. Such type of action should not be ignored. It is not necessary to give punishment but teacher must explain him the consequences of his mistake so that he would not repeat them in future. Punishment and ignorance are not solution of the problem. Action like bullying, lying, cheating in examination should not be ignored otherwise they will become habit of a person. Such problems should get rectify in childhood only so they that child can become not only good student but good human being too.
It would be more correct to phrase this sentence” the best way to teach is to praise positive action and ignore negative ones that are not harmful for anyone. In conclusion, positive feedback to student ensures their growth but always ignoring their negative action will not.
