It is claimed that it is more beneficial that college students should be encouraged to further education in subjects that meet their desires and interests rather than the courses that are more related to prospect careers and workplaces. From my perspective, although I support such a statement, I think there should not be any strict discrimination between various courses provided in college and their future professional.
On the one hand, there is no doubt that one purpose of education and attending courses is to prepare students for their future job-status. It is vitally imperative that they like and be passionate about what they are taught and learned. The backbone of any success relies on one's interests and ambitions, so there is no exception for the education path and concluding the future job. The more they are fond of what they are taught, the more they will be enthusiastic about strengthening their knowledge and understanding of those specific subjects. By way of illustration, I was highly keen on science when I was a little girl, and I became excited and motivated whenever I watched a cartoon about science and investigation, or I read when I grew older, regarding explorations and outer space investigations. Anyway, I will not feel satisfaction and fulfillment in any other way except for science-related subjects and syllabus. Fortunately, I am looking forward to a bright future when I am able to apply all my knowledge. Cooperation with other like-minded counterparts does something for the sake of humans and environmental well-being.
On the other hand, from my point of view, such attitudes and beliefs that consider some courses that are more beneficial and practical for future jobs are not correct due to several rationales. First of all, if each student is educated in a particular field that he/she is keen on, their success in the future will be a probable thing, because they will not be frustrated or tired of what they have chosen and liked, and they will not abandon it easily. We are humans, and it is proven when we target a purpose and goal for ourselves, we strive our best to gain it. Secondly, if some courses seem to be more successful in the work atmosphere, it may be saturated when students finish their education. So, they not only did not trace their interests to have a decent and well-paid occupation in the future, but they also lost their chances due to present such potential job conditions.
To conclude, I strongly believe that it is more advantageous for both today's college students and society, in terms of having more educated and experts in diverse workplaces, that students follow and track their interests in subjects that are their preference and tendency. Meanwhile, they cannot have success in the future if they do not know what specific subjects in their education years will enable and skill them.
