Essay topics:

Nations should pass laws to preserve any remaining wilderness areas in their natural state, even if these areas could be developed for economic gain.

Managing a natural area which has the scope to reap enconoimc gains is profitable to nation but There lies an utmost priority to safegaurd the natural habitat of that particular area from being destroyed.

For Instance, in India a village which is full of scenic beauty near Vishakapatnam city is rich in bauxite ores. Urge for economic profit attracted central goverment to cut down all the tress and destroy all the present hummocks in that area. But there are many tribal people living in that area in past 50 years. They has revolted against central goverment and finally a law has been passed by the central govement that the area should be preserved from further destruction.

On the same lines, A law has been passed by the government against construction of roads in sabarimalai forest of kerala even though it would have been helped in solving major transporation crisis between the villages in order to preserve the existing natural tiger reserves.

On the flip side, there are cases where government has suitably developed an area of natural wilderness for economic gains. In india, Visakapatnam is the only city having a natural shipping harbour. Goverment has taken meticulous steps to utilize the natually existing hills for the harbour construction by concomitantly preserving the existing natural beauty of area surrounding the hills.

In sum, goverment should take judicious care to areas to preserve their remaining natural wilderness and should sort to development of those areas only if there are negligible effects on the surrounding areas and dependent species.
