The pie chart and the table inform about reasons of declining productivity of out planet’s farming lands and statistics concerning some causes in a group of regions respectively in relative years.
As pie chart illustrates, the main problems of land degradation were related to over-grazing of livestock and deforestation (65%). Furthermore, over-cultivation had third place (28%) among the reasons and other causes only had a minimum role (7%).
The table shows that over-cultivation in North America (3.3%), deforestation in Europe (9.8%), and over-grazing in Oceania were the main reasons of land degradation. Also, over-grazing and deforestation totally had less effect than over-cultivation in North America. However, in Europe over-cultivation and over-grazing totally (13.2%) had more effect than deforestation. Furthermore, over-cultivation and deforestation didn’t have significant role on land degradation in oceania. All in all, Europe, Oceania and North America had first to third places respectively in terms of total land degradation. By comparing three regions, deforestation and over-cultivation in Europe grasped the first place and over grazing in Oceania had the first rank among regions.
