The argument that financial funding from the government or from various sources to support arts, music, painting is a subject that is both supported and refuted by many. Both sides of the argument will be analyzed before a reasonable opinion is drawn.
It is believed by some people that, government is primarily responsible for funding its major share in arts, painting, and music through taxes. An idea to support this, Governments earn a major revenue from its taxes though gross domestic profit and major share of it can be utilized to set up schools where people are interested in showcasing there talent and it enables in supporting certain sectors which are fading out and overall enable in development of music , arts and painting. It can be argued that this it will remain true. It is also clear that some people in view of funding from the government will gravitate towards this point of view.
However on the other side of the argument, financial source derived from other means apart from the government would be a primary source to support arts, music, and painting through charity and supporting a cause from non-profitable perspective. For example, recently Greenpeace a non –profit organization which solely survives on funding by individuals around the world hosted a music concert in Germany which showcased the best music talent in the world who in turn were fighting for a cause in term of saving the whales. It was attended by millions of people around the world and in turn donated a major source of financial funding to support towards a cause and overall helped in the arts and community sector. After analyzing these facts it is clear why many support this claim.
In summary, it is debatable whether Government funding for arts, music, painting and both critics and advocates seem to have plenty of arguments in support of their view. On balance, having considered that points employed by both sides of the argument, the writer believes that funding represents both sides of the coin , however a majority of funding is required by the government in order to function effectively in the area of creative arts, music and painting.
