A group of people think that global news should be included school syllabus in high school. By contrast, the other group assume that it is waste of priceless youth time. To my way of thinking, modern education is tough enough. Therefore, international news will be an extra burden.
On the one hand, it is commonly maintained that the globalization is at its peak point. Therefore, learning about the updates of our own surroundings as well as the whole world is turning into a significant need. Moreover, global news will entail the classes including the high level of discussion which are believed to boost analytic mind and inquiring personality in students. In other words, encouraging students to be able to analyse various situations correctly can lead to success in the other science branches and overall life. Additionally, being aware of the global problems and needs can motivate them to act in smaller or medium levels at earlier ages in order to make our planet more livable place.
On the other hand, a considerable amount of people might argue that difficulty level of current education system is increasing day by day in order to satisfy needs of the highly competitive and challenging business world. Therefore, increasing the numbers of subjects in school syllabus will exhaust younger parts of the society. Moreover, most parents would appreciate opportunities for improving their children’s theoretical and technical skills primarily in more prominent subjects, such as math, physics, chemistry and biology. It is widely assumed that learning the patterns of these subjects will constitute more sophisticated work and life opportunities. Furthermore, it is undeniable that undesirable events happen in the world every day. Being aware of such sorrowful accidents can alter students’ psychology and mental state negatively, resulting in ineffectiveness in educational and social life.
To conclude, in spite of the fact that international news could have some advantageous aspects to some extent, it will be an irrelevant burden and possible threat to students’ psychology in secondary school.
