Some people say that it would be better if the majority of people worked from home instead of travelling to a workplace every day.
Do you think the advantages of working from home outweigh the disadvantages?
There is little room for doubt that there has been created much wider opportunities due to recent technological revolution. Consequently, one is at crossroad whether to commute to work every single day or accomplish the same duties at home using special equipments like personal computers. The former choice is generally considered to have much more advantages. Yet to the best of my knowledge, positive sides of working from home fails to outnumber the number of side effects associated with it.
While concentrating on advantages, at first, it is important to note that primary advantages of working at home can be reflected by subsequent convenience and saving time by not commuting each day. Admittedly, being free from the responsibility of worrying about absent at working hours or arriving late – which requires to being early bird to avoid – can be cited as example. Expenditure of commuters, meanwhile, would be minimized as they would not spend any money notably for taxi and buses. In the light of these facts, working from home has potential to seem to be much better and convenient.
On the other hand, further and even more vital facts can be found against working at home rather than at workplace. For instance, employees would have to go through difficulties particularly working unsocial hours and the absence of close interaction with their colleagues namely not getting into their company. Furthermore, employees would found themselves glued to chair, sitting in front of computers predominantly which leads to detrimental health problems. People, accordingly, would suffer from monotony and uniformity of their social lives.
All in all, taking into consideration the reasons outlined above, working from home might resemble to outweigh its side effects. However, there are much more crucial factors, such as being isolated from society and suffering from sameness in their lifetime, which is assessed to have much more significance.
