The graph below shows the changes in food consumption by Chinese people between 1985 and 2010.

The line graphs elucidate the changes in the amount of meat, salt and fish, which have eaten by Chinese citizens for the period of 1985 till 2010.

From the graph can be observed that, people in China consumed more fish than other two types of food (meat and salt) throughout the period. In the week of 1985, about 600 grams of fish used in cooking whereas the salt intake by Chinese individuals is followed closely at around 500 grams. Meanwhile, the meat was the most food consumed in China where it recorded at 100 grams per person in 1985. Throughout the period, the grams of fish and salt decreased where fish reached it’s the lowest point of 600 grams and about 350 grams for salt in 1995. After 1995, the preferences of fish and meat increased among Chinese people. The food intake in 2010 was at well above 800 grams and 200 grams, respectively.

It is apparent that the fish was the most popular food in China for 25 years. In addition to this, it shows that the people’s choice on fish increased as well as meat consumption for the projected periods whereas, salt intake has been declined as fewer Chinese people chose to consume.
