Given are two figures concerning agricultural land’s degradation. A glance at the table provided reveals some considerable information regarding the main causes of land degradation based upon three regions (North America, Europe, and Oceania) in the 1990s, while the pie chart brings different reasons of land degradation.

It is evident from the information provided that over-grazing had by far the highest degradation percentages. Also apparent is the fact that deforestation and over-cultivation are more likely to degrade productivity respectively by 30% and 28%, meanwhile, other sources just have 7% contribution.

With regard to regions, Europe suffers considerably from deforestation by 9.8%, while over-grazing and over-cultivation are among the highest causes of land degradation in Oceania and North America by 11.3% and 1.5%, respectively. one particularly interesting fact is that North America and Europe have got the lowest and highest total land degraded respectively by 5% and 23%, however, Oceania has just 13%.

It is interesting to note that land degradation caused by over-cultivation is absolute zero in Oceania
